Steering and Final Work

The steering gear was found to be sound, but the tie rod ends were replaced and the tie rods restored.

During the course of the primary work, it was also found that:

  • The engine having been removed at some time had been installed off center – the engine was centered in the chassis
  • The air cleaner oil reservoir had a pin hole leak and the muffler section had holes – the holes were welded closed and the assembly properly painted
  • The plastic convertible window was badly discolored limiting rear vision – the plastic window was polished to like new clarity.
